Day In The Life Of An Informal Settlement
I woke up to no food and started walking to school. At school I had no food in my lunchbox but then the school offered me food. After I ate they handed out textbooks. There was only ten but I got one. School ended so I started walking to a bench.
When I got there I studied English and geography.
I started walking home, I got home and it was 4 o’clock. I had to cook lunch for my mom because she is sick. I went outside to water the veggies. I started thinking on what I wanted, I want a fireproof house, a drainage system and a upstairs. We want a fireproof house because there is lots of fires, a drainage system because there is lots of rain and we want an upstairs because we don’t have a lot of space. I walked to my friend’s house, we went to go play soccer. We made a soccer ball out of a few plastic packets and 4 elastic bands. Some of my other friends and his other friends played too. We play soccer on a big concrete slab.
I went home I cooked dinner for my mom and I, I boiled peppers and cabbage for dinner. My mom went to bed at 8 o’clock but I was studying again. I went outside to see if there was any fire, there was one but that one was far, far away. I went to bed but then it started pouring with rain I stayed up until 11 o’clock trying to sleep. The rain carried on until 12 o’clock. I dozed off to sleep at half past twelve.
A super effort, Kayden. Some good insight shown and some thoughtful descriptions.
